Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to making Lettr usable for everyone.
Last updated:
1. Our commitment
We want everyone in the United Kingdom to be able to use Lettr, regardless of disability, assistive technology, or device. We follow the principles of the UK Equality Act 2010 and aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
2. What we do
To make the Service accessible, we:
- Use semantic HTML so screen readers can interpret content correctly;
- Ensure all images have meaningful alternative text where needed;
- Maintain colour contrast ratios that meet or exceed WCAG AA;
- Make the site fully keyboard navigable, with visible focus indicators;
- Use clear, plain language wherever possible;
- Support browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content;
- Respect the operating system’s “reduce motion” preference (we disable our gradient mesh animation when set);
- Test pages with screen readers (VoiceOver, NVDA) and keyboard-only navigation;
- Aim for fast page loads and small bundles to support users on slower connections and older devices.
3. Conformance status
At the time of writing, we are working toward full WCAG 2.2 AA conformance. Our current self-assessment is summarised below. We will update this section as we improve.
| Area | Status |
|---|---|
| Perceivable (text alternatives, contrast, structure) | Substantially compliant |
| Operable (keyboard, no traps, navigable) | Compliant |
| Understandable (readable, predictable, input assistance) | Compliant |
| Robust (parsing, name/role/value) | Compliant |
4. Known issues
We are aware of and are working on the following accessibility issues:
- The decorative gradient mesh on the homepage is animated. Users with the “reduce motion” setting enabled will see a static version automatically.
- The live demo on the homepage uses an animated typewriter effect. The same content is also available as plain text in the Letter generation flow.
- PDF letters are generated with embedded text and basic structure. We are working on improving heading and language tagging for screen readers.
5. Assistive technology compatibility
We test the Service with the following:
- VoiceOver on macOS and iOS (Safari);
- NVDA on Windows (Firefox, Chrome);
- Keyboard-only navigation on all major browsers;
- 200% browser zoom on Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge.
6. Reporting accessibility problems
If you have difficulty using any part of the Service, please tell us. We treat accessibility feedback as a priority and aim to acknowledge within 2 business days.
Email: accessibility@lettr.uk
Please include the page or feature, the device and browser/assistive technology you are using, and a description of the issue.

8. Preparation of this statement
This statement was prepared on the date above. It is based on a combination of automated tooling (Lighthouse, axe-core) and manual testing. We review and update it at least annually and whenever we ship a major change to the Service.
